Speech Therapist
Sophia graduated from Purdue University in 2020 with a B.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. After graduating from Purdue, she worked as a paraprofessional in a middle school for a year and supported children in an educational setting. She then attended Indiana University and graduated in the spring of 2023 with a M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology. She did her first clinical rotation at an elementary school and worked extensively with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, and provided treatment for children with a wide variety of other speech, language, and communication disorders. She completed her second clinical rotation at a pediatric outpatient clinic, gaining further experience with the pediatric population, including providing skilled feeding therapy.
Sophia is extremely passionate about working with children, and has known that working with kids was her calling when she began nannying during high school. From the first time she shadowed a speech-language pathologist, she knew joining this career was meant for her. She enjoys all the fun aspects of the job, like forming close relationships clients and their families, playing games, and forming so many amazing memories, but is also inspired daily by the positive impact she can make on the lives of her clients. Fun fact: Sophia has TWELVE nieces and nephews (with number thirteen on the way!) all ten years old or younger… so being around kids is in her blood!
